Preliminaries |
Cut for deal. Dealer changes with each game in clockwise rotation. The residue of the pack is placed in the centre of the table. |
||
Play |
The player who holds the 7♦ commences play and the card is placed in the centre of the table. If this card is "sleeping" the player to the left of the dealer will draw a card from the central pack and include it in his/her hand. Each player in turn will take a card until the 7♦ appears. It is then played immediately and placed face upwards in the centre of the table to start the game. Play continues clockwise. Cards of the same suit are added to the 7♦ in sequence (i.e. 6 down to the ace and 8 up to the king), or another 7 can be played and added to in the same way. Each player plays one card in turn. If a player is unable to go, he/she takes from the central pack. This card must be added to the hand and not played until the next round. Once all the cards are removed from the central pack, a player passes if he/she is unable to play a card. |
||
Strategy |
To hold up opponents as long as possible. Delay playing a 7 if there is no obvious benefit (i.e. no high cards or low cards of this suit held) and an alternative card can be played. |
