Pre-sort the pack so that Ace up to the 10 of a chosen suit is on the bottom of the pack, the numbers running in order, Ace being the last card. Shuffle the top three-quarters of the pack so that it appears the cards are thoroughly mixed.

Quickly show the pack without revealing the last ten cards, so that it appears that the cards are in random order.

Ask a person to select a card from the top three-quarters of the pack, look at it and replace it on the top of the pack. The same person to cut the pack a number of times. Turn the pack over so that the cards are face up and continue cutting the pack until one of the pre-selected cards originally placed at the bottom of the pack is showing. The number of this card will tell you how far from the top of the pack is the chosen card.
