Cut for dealer. Dealer changes with each round in clockwise rotation. |

Play |
Play commences by the player to the left of the dealer placing one of the five cards held face upwards in front of his or herself. The next player will endeavour to pair the card showing, thereby causing the first player to lose a life. When a life is lost the money is placed into a central kitty. The play of a card is repeated in rotation round the table, each player trying to pair the last card shown by the right-hand opponent, until all the cards have been played. The hands are than reshuffled and dealt for the next round and repeated until only one person is left with a "life". |

If, when pairing your right-hand opponent, you are immediately paired with a card of the same denomination by your left-hand opponent, 2 lives are lost in one go. Where all four cards of the same denomination are played in sequence, then -
